DigitalEurope calls for 'reset' on ePrivacy Regulation discussion

DigitalEurope has called for EU member states to “reset� the discussion around the proposed ePrivacy Regulation. The trade association’s main issues focus on the lack of progress made on ePrivacy since it was proposed in January 2017, as well as amendments it claims “create more confusion than clarity.� The group hopes a new European Commission and Parliament can help to bring a new angle to the conversation. “We fully support the worthy objectives of the proposal, but only a fresh new attempt will serve the Regulation’s purpose in line with the principles of better regulation,� DigitalEurope said in a statement.
