Florida bill seeks to protect foster parent PII

A bill protecting the identities of foster parents passed its first committee unanimously in the Florida House and is set to appear before the Oversight, Transparency & Public Management Subcommittee and Health and Human Services committees next, the Herald Tribune reports. Under Florida law, foster parents’ addresses, birth dates, medical records, photographs and home floor plans are already considered confidential information. The bill would include the names of foster parents, their spouses, their children and any other household members on a list of exemptions from Florida’s public records laws.  Full Story
