FTC to send out $31M in checks from 2015 LifeLock settlement

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has announced it will begin sending out more than $31 million worth of reimbursement checks as part of a 2015 settlement with identity theft protection provider LifeLock. The FTC is mailing more than 1 million checks averaging about $29. The sum of all the checks is the remaining money from a $100 million settlement related to violations of an FTC order that required LifeLock to secure consumers’ personal information and prohibited the use of deceptive advertising
