Toronto man claims car dealership employee turned off dashboard cam on two occasions

CBC News reports on a Toronto man who claims an employee at a car dealership turned off the dashboard camera mounted on his vehicle on two separate occasions. Haider Firas said the employee also deleted all the videos stored on file the second time he took his car to Parkview BMW. The dealership’s director said in a conversation with Firas it is common practice for employees to turn off cameras should they feel uncomfortable with any form of recording. Blake, Cassels & Graydon Partner Alice Tseng said a privacy violation could only have occurred in this situation if the employee had accessed or watched any of the videos captured on the camera.Full Story
