Twitter clarifies plan to delete inactive accounts

Twitter will preserve the accounts of deceased people as part of its plan to remove inactive accounts over the coming months, The Verge reports. Last week, Twitter announced any account inactive for more than six months could be removed if the user did not log in by Dec. 11. Many raised concerns about losing access to accounts of those who have died. “We’ve heard you on the impact that this would have on the accounts of the deceased,� the company tweeted in response, adding that the process will begin in the European Union to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation
