Waterloo police to use drone in investigations

The Waterloo Regional Police Services Board announced the city’s police will be able to use a drone to assist in investigations, CBC News reports. A report released by the board states five officers have been trained to operate the device, “as well as the theory of flight, weather and privacy legislation.” The board also announced a privacy impact assessment has been conducted related to the use of the drone, adding it will “follow the recommendations of the privacy commissioner at all times when operating the RPV.”Full Story
